Holiday Gift Exchange – Book Lovers Blog Hop!

Holiday Gift Exchange - Book Lovers Blog Hop Banner

Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Kwanza! Happy Holidays! Welcome to day one of the Holiday Book Lovers Blog Hop! I’ve joined with 30+ other bloggers and authors this holiday season to say a great big “THANK YOU!” for your support and loyalty as a reader and fan. YOU are the reason we continue to write and blog.

This week, I’m giving away FREE ebook copies of my novel, SERPENT ON A CROSS. And as a bonus for those of you who have already read SOAC, I’m going to give away the first 5 pages of the upcoming sequel, Veil of Menace, which will be released in 2015! The Veil of Menace giveaway contains spoilers, so if you haven’t already done so, you NEED to read SOAC first. 🙂

This giveaway will be sent out at THE END of the blog hop, so please, invite your friends (and enemies, too; it IS the season of giving, after all) to stop by and sign up all week. To participate in this giveaway, tell me your favorite Christmas or Holiday song. Easy, no? One of my favorite holiday songs is “Mary, Did You Know?” I love PTX’s (Pentatonix) interpretation. Here’s their video from YouTube:

Go HERE to enter to win The Grand Prize – a $100 Amazon Gift Card!

Black Friday Book Bonanza – Win a Copy of Serpent on a Cross

Black Friday Book Bonanza GraphicHope you enjoyed your Turkey Day! My family had our Thanksgiving Feast on the Eve – one of my brothers is a firefighter who was scheduled to be on shift on Thanksgiving Day, and my mother decided she wanted the whole family around the table this year, so we had our Thanksgiving Wednesday evening. Which meant that everyone enjoyed an extra day of rest on Thursday. 🙂   Well, everyone except the firefighter, that is. 😉

Also new this year, I’ve joined with 67 other authors and bloggers in a Black Friday blog hop, hosted by BookShelfery.com and CaffeinatedReviewer.com. Instead of trying to compete with the masses at brick and mortar stores, why not just sit back, give your feet a rest and let your fingers do the shopping for you. Visit every blog on this hop for some great prizes. The blog hop link at the end of this post will take you to the next site.

I’m giving away ebook copies of my book, Serpent on a Cross. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment about what you’re thankful for this holiday season. That’s it! If I can get to 250 entries, one lucky, randomly selected commenter will also receive a print copy of Serpent on a Cross! USA only, please. Happy Holidays!

Paper Souls by Allie Burke

Paper Soulsthere is no memory without emptiness

A heart-wrenching, beautifully woven tale of survival, Allie Burke’s Paper Souls is different from most books I’ve read – not only in subject matter, but also in structure.

The structure puts me in mind of Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me Series. Stark and lyrical. I love this style of prose. It’s unpredictable and often irreverent, thumbing its proverbial nose at the reader’s expectations of what comes next.

The subject matter – Schizophrenia and how one woman refuses to be defined by it – is raw, jagged, and thought-provoking.

Allie by turns caresses your senses with the sensual, loveable side of Emily Colt, then stabs you with Emily’s sharp, biting wit and – sometimes violent – confrontations with those who have wronged her.

Emily is a multi-layered protagonist who is determined to live life on her own terms. Love her, hate her, Emily Colt is a character you’ll not soon forget, and Allie Burke is an author worth reading.

Allie is also the bestselling author of The Enchanters Series: Violet Midnight, Emerald Destiny, and Amber Passion. To find out more about Allie Burke, visit her website: http://wordsbyallieburke.com/
